A beloved Heights tradition is back on this year after taking a hiatus caused by COVID-19. The Houston Heights Association's 26th Annual Candlelight Dinner & Auction, which has been a popular event for residents and a key fundraiser for the neighborhood organization, is scheduled for 6-9 p.m. Saturday, May 1 and will be held in a mostly virtual format this year. Instead of gathering in one place, participating diners will enjoy a gourmet meal and auction in groups of 10 or less at residents' homes. The event was scrapped last year because of the pandemic. "We're very excited," said HHA board member Carol Welter, who serves as vice president of fundraising and events. "And we've had a good response."
