BRIGANTINE - Two duck hunters found themselves up in the air Tuesday when a Coast Guard helicopter came to their rescue, An aircrew hoisted the hunters to safety after they became stranded on an island near Little Egg Inlet in Brigantine, according to a Coast Guard account. The hunters were rescued under worsening conditions, with the temperature falling and the sun going down, the account said. It said the hunters had taken a boat to the island "but were unable to recover (it) upon return." A marine towing service could not reach the hunters due to shallow water around the island, the account said.
