Photo Credit: Hennecke GmbH Hennecke GmbH (Sankt Augustin, Germany) has recently completed post-fire restoration of its Techcenter and has reopened the in-house polyurethane (PU) processing research facility to customers and development partners. Caused by a fire in summer 2020, the building suffered direct damage. While indirect damage was dealt to the machine and plant technology, Hennecke reports that only emergency operations could be carried out for selected applications following the fire. Further, the company also took advantage of the restoration work to expand the Techcenter’s capacity. In line with the Hennecke Production System (HPS), a modernized version of the lean production system, the available space has been enhanced using modern shop floor management for better use of space.
