Modelling a positive sense of self-worth is more important than you might think. Photo: Unsplash/Kevin Laminto. While parents are generally good at ensuring their children have food in their bellies, clothes on their backs, a roof over their heads and a proper education, many falter when it comes to exposing their children to modelled behaviour of self-love, acceptance and a positive body image. You may argue that your body image is the least of your troubles as a parent, but modelling a positive sense of self-worth is more important than you might think. While most parents would never dare call their children "fat" or "ugly" – and wouldn't stand for other people doing so either – we, however, tend to use these words about ourselves.
