A primary school held a ‘uniform swap’ day in its mission to promote sustainability and help its families financially. Heron Hill Primary School, Kendal, held the drop-off last Thursday and invited parents to donate items of uniform, PE kit and equipment by leaving them on tables positioned outside the school gates. Pupils from key worker families, who have continued to attend school throughout the lockdown, were on hand to supervise and help bring in the generous donations. And on Tuesday parents and guardians were able to collect items from the school for free. “Our first morning of the uniform swap went extremely well,” said deputy headteacher Michelle Wilkinson, “with well over 20 families coming to pick up everything from sweatshirts and summer dresses to full uniforms and PE kits.
