Saturday, a doubleheader was scheduled, but never even started due to storms in Asheville. Sunday, however, the two teams were able to play a doubleheader with Hickory losing in walk-off fashion 9-8 on the first game but wining the nightcap, 2-1. In the first game, Asheville jumped out to a 4-0 lead through the fourth inning. Hickory got on the board in the sixth inning with two runs. Blaine Crim opened the inning getting hit by a pitch. Trey Hair was then walked. David Garcia then doubled, allowing Crim to score and Hair land on third. Miguel Aparicio was walked to load the bases. After Frainyer Chavez struck out swinging, Jake Guenther hit a sacrafice fly to center field, allowing Hair to score.
