Vayla Smith wins 400-meter dash, sets new record
The Middle School Cubs track team completed its season by competing in the Big 8 Middle School Championships on May 1.
The teams were lead by a record-breaking performance by Valya Smith, who broke her own record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1.01.92, crowning her conference champion. According to MoMileSplit.com, Smith’s time is the fastest in the state by an eighth-grade girl this season.
