FISH and chip shops are being invited to support their hospital by inviting customers to text a £1 donation while they are queuing for their chips. York Teaching Hospital Charity is asking businesses to display a poster to raise donations that have been lost through the lack of collection tins. Since the pandemic, many businesses have removed their collection tins to help stop the spread of the virus. Maya Liversidge, community fundraiser, said: “We are always grateful to all the local businesses who support us by having a collection tin and to the generous public who are happy to give us their loose change.
