The 7.9% national, seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate for Hispanics and Latinos in April matched March’s level and remained 11.0 points lower than the record-high of 18.9% set a year ago in April 2020 . In April the ranks of Hispanics unemployed rose by 12,000 and 86,000 fewer jobs, but 74,000 left the labor force, dropping Hispanics’ labor force participation rate from 65.6% to 65.3%, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported Friday.
