Hobby Lobby submits application to open San Luis Obispo location and last updated 2021-02-22 22:15:12-05 Another arts and crafts store is making plans to open in San Luis Obispoâs Madonna Plaza. Community Development Director Michael Codron says Hobby Lobbyâs first application was received by the city on Sept. 4 of last year. A second plan review was completed last month and needs to be resubmitted. The 48,362 square-foot store would be located next to REI in part of the former Forever 21 building. Hobby Lobby has not returned KSBYâs request for comment on when the store may open. As of now the closest Hobby Lobby is in Santa Maria.
