The price of housing in the city increased dramatically over the past few months, which has led to Cornwall’s homeless population increasing in size since the start of the year.

On Thursday, the Standard-Freeholder met with three Mohawk individuals who said they were homeless — two women and one man. They currently live off of the banks of the St. Lawrence River in Cornwall. To get to them, one must travel down a forested path that leads down a small hill. Under a large tree, they’ve set up their four tents, which were generously donated, as were some blankets and some pillows.
