It's just the latest in a long line of gradual price bumps for Honda's hottest Civic model. Sad news for fans of attainable performance cars: the Honda Civic Type R - Honda's hottest, most high-performance compact car - is getting a price increase as it slides into 2021. The base MSRP of the Civic R has nudged upward by $400, at the same time that Honda has increased its destination fee by $40 for cars, and $55 for trucks and crossovers, spelling out a total price increase of $440 compared to the 2020 model year. That may not seem like a whole lot for a car that costs nearly $40k in the US already, but it's better than half of an entire extra monthly payment, depending on how long a given customer might be financing for. It's also far from the only price increase that the Civic R has had since its introduction.
