(WKBT)–The Hilltoppers survived and advanced to the D2 Final Saturday morning, beating Xavier 66-57. Three key three-pointers from Evan Gamoke proved to be the difference maker late in the second half, breaking a tie, and giving Onalaska a lead they wouldn’t give up. The Hawks featured a staunch defensive front inside, but Senior Gavin McGrath was still able to walk away with 18 points on the day. Senior Victor Desmond says the team got more comfortable in the second half, allowing more looks inside.
