GURUGRAM: Residents of around 50 group housing societies in sectors 54, 55 and 56 are miffed after receiving notices of enhancement fee from the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP). They said HSVP has been issuing ‘illegal’ notices for recovery of the fee and warning them of punitive action such as disconnection of water and sewer lines or cancelling their registry.
Residents are now planning to move the Punjab and Haryana high court against the ‘arbitrary demands’.
According to them, HSVP had acquired 631 acres in Gurgaon in 1990 at rates ranging between Rs 50,000 to Rs 1,25,000 per acre. In 1996, the district court increased the land compensation, which was later challenged in the high court. In 2010, the supreme court revised the amount to Rs 8,23,500 per acre.
