The industrialists have said that production is usually increased before Diwali and vehicular movement continues throughout the day. However, the traffic police have prohibited the entry of heavy vehicles in the city between 8am to 11am and 5pm to 9pm. “The ban on heavy vehicle movement will impact production by around 10 to 15% since it affects the raw material supply. The demand is high during the festive season and the industries will suffer trying to meet it,” said Dilip Batwal, secretary, Federation of Chakan Industries.
