Around 70 percent of 10-year-olds in low- and middle-income countries can’t read and understand a simple text. Teaching-at-the-Right Level groups students by their current learning level, rather than by their current grade. The TaRL method has proven both effective and economical, delivering the equivalent of more than three years of high-quality schooling per US$100 spent.
