Miscreants claiming to be associated with a local MLA in Shahjahanpur dug a 7-km road using heavy machinery, assaulted workers, and set machines on fire. This was reportedly in response to the contractor's refusal to pay a "goonda tax". The contractor alleges that the troublemaker behind the destruction is Jagveer Singh, who identifies himself as the local MLA's representative.
