The Punjab government in Lahore, Pakistan, is considering implementing coronavirus-like restrictions to combat the worsening smog situation. The proposed measures include a complete shutdown on Wednesdays, with schools, markets, and factories closed, as well as a work-from-home policy for two months. Heavy fines and potential closures will be imposed on factories violating pollution laws. Lahore has been ranked as the city with the worst air quality in the world by Swiss air quality technology company, IQAir.
