Image used for representational purpose only The block development officer (BDO),Chhendipada, in Angul district carried a man’s body for the last rites after locals refused to do so. The 65-year-old man, Gobinda Majhi, of Bahala Sahi on Friday evening. Though he had not tested positive, he had cough and breathing problems for five days. As the body lay for more than 16 hours, the BDO Sanjay Kumar Acharya went to the village on Saturday morning and with the help of local sarpanch Narayan Behera and the deceased’s son carried it to the cremation ground and cremated it. He wore a PPE while carrying the body.
