Over 50% teaching posts vacant in GMU Sambalpur: Gangadhar Meher University, an important educational institution in western Odisha, is facing severe shortage of teachers’ with more than 50% of the teaching positions lying vacant. Only two professors — one each in political science and physics departments — have been posted against 23 sanctioned posts. The rest 21 departments do not have professors. Similarly, there are 55 assistant professors against the 86 sanctioned posts.
