CHAMBA: Despite that hydropower projects have made an important contribution in the development of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh (HP), yet their impact on the environment has taken a huge toll on the natural and agricultural area, wildlife habitat and more importantly it has resulted in drying of the river bed due to diversion of river flow which could play havoc in future. While talking to TOI on Tuesday Professor Shivani Abrol, head of the Geography department of Government College Chamba informed that there were as many as 13 small and big hydropower projects in Chamba district alone.
