Kingwell wins 2021 Lahaina Poster Contest By Staff | Dec 31, 2020 LAHAINA — “Village by the Sea,” a watercolor by Lahaina artist Jim Kingwell, was chosen as the official Lahaina Poster image for 2021. He received a $1,500 prize. Juror George Allan chose the winning image out of a field of 36 entries. Jill Ireland’s acrylic painting titled “Magical Lahaina Banyan” was awarded the Lahaina Arts Society’s Juror Award, which included a prize of $250. The Lahaina Poster Show can be viewed at Village Gallery at 120 Dickenson St. in Lahaina until Jan. 8. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except for Sunday when the gallery is closed. All artwork is for sale and was created by artists residing in Maui County.
