dgau@marshallindependent.com COTTONWOOD —Â One young person died and five more were injured in separate accidents reported over the weekend in Lyon and Yellow Medicine Counties, area law enforcement said. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an ATV crash reported Saturday afternoon in Stanley Township. The operator of the ATV was identified as Parker Viaene of rural Cottonwood. Viaene was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash, the Sheriff’s Office said. A total of five young men were also injured at a bonfire in rural Granite Falls over the weekend, the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office said. Three of the injured people, ages 18, 20 and 20, were airlifted for burn treatment.
