Athens man wounded when political argument erupts in gunfire An argument over politics last weekend left one man shot in the neck and the shooter on the run, according to Athens-Clarke police. The shooting occurred shortly before 7 p.m. Feb. 13 on Rocksprings Court, where an Athens-Clarke police officer on patrol was flagged down by a man in a car. The driver, Rashad V. Allen, 38, had blood on his clothing and a gunshot wound to his neck, police said. As an ambulance was en route, Allen told police that he and Sanchez Aaron Smith, 38, of Athens had argued earlier that day.
