District: Northland Five people have been taken to hospital following a serious crash on State Highway 1 near Puhipuhi Rd earlier this afternoon. Emergency services responded to the crash just after 2pm. Two people are in a serious condition and three people sustained moderate injuries. State Highway 1 is closed between Hukerenui Rd and Jordan Valley Rd but is expected to reopen shortly. Police would like to thank motorists for their cooperation and understanding.
