Rain didn’t put a dampener on the excitement at the opening of Marton’s newest asset. Te Āhuru Mōwai Playground was officially opened after four years of hard work and dedication sparked by two mothers who wanted a better community playground for their rural town. Lucy Skou and Brenna O’Niell, founders of the Marton Development Group, cut the ribbon on their labour of love project on Saturday with hundreds of local supporters cheering them on after the years of challenges getting the playground over the line were finally over.
