The City of Fairfield has announced that hydrant flushing will take place through the week next week. The flushing is for the health and safety of city residents. On Monday, hydrant flushing will take place in the 1st ward which is every hydrant east of 1st Street to Sunrise Drive. The 2nd ward will be flushed out on Tuesday which covers every hydrant North of Elm between 1st and West 7th Street. Ward 3 flushing will take place on Wednesday which will encompass an area South of Elm Street between 1st and 7th Street. On Thursday, flushing will take place in the 4th ward which includes every hydrant West of 7th Street, stopping at Airport Road. On Friday, officials will flush the hydrants in the outlying area, including Walmart, Petroleum Boulevard, Brach Oaks, Highway 45 South, and Highway 15 East to the City's Oid filter plant. During hydrant flushing, water may be temporarily discolored and a dip in water pressure may occur. City officials recommend checking your water before doing laundry.
