Hyundai has officially launched its enhanced Kona model in South Africa. The model slots in between the existing Creta and Tucson in the Korean automaker's line-up. The crossover SUV first made its local debut in 2018 and has since sold 1 699 units. Customers can choose between two trim levels, with pricing starting from R449 900 for the Executive and R579 900 for the top-spec N-Line. Two engine options are offered - a naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre petrol with 109kW and 179Nm, and a turbocharged 1.6-litre generating 146kW and 265Nm. A six-speed automatic (for the 2.0-litre) and seven-speed DCT (for the 1.6-litre) transmission is responsible for swapping cogs.
