Sources in LJP have said that MPs are not happy with the working style of Chirag Paswan since the demise of his father, Ram Vilas Paswan in 2020. NEW DELHI: Pashupati Kumar Paras has been unanimously elected as the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) parliamentary leader in the Lok Sabha. LJP has six MPs in the Lok Sabha, including party president Chirag Paswan. Over the weekend, the LJP was ripe with speculations of a split as the five MPs switched loyalties to Paras in order to oust Paswan as their leader in the House. Addressing reporters, Paras on Monday lauded Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar as a good leader and "vikas purush" (development-oriented man), highlighting the deep fault lines within the party as his nephew Chirag Paswan has been a strong critic of the JD(U) president.
