FAIRFIELD-SUISUN, CALIFORNIA Improving financial outlook in La Verne means some budget cuts may be restored [Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, Calif.] Feb. 3—Though it anticipated a significant shortfall in sales tax revenue last spring, the city of La Verne is projecting a much rosier outlook for the current fiscal year. The city expects to see $4.5 million in sales tax revenue for the 2020-21 fiscal year, which began July 1. The latest projection is $650,000 ahead of what the city forecasted when it originally adopted its budget in June. At the time, the city said it anticipated a total of $3.85 million in sales tax revenues. But those forecasts have improved steadily over the past six months, with the city increasing its projected sales tax revenues to $4.2 million in October before the latest update.
