The new head of Downtown Springfield, Inc. says creation of an arts and entertainment district in the downtown area is one of the ideas she plans to pursue. Kayla Graven started the new post Thursday, replacing Lisa Clemmons Stott, whose resignation took effect this week. In her first interview as executive director, Graven said she will work closely with the city on the appearance of downtown… such as curbsides and facades. And while she says it would be great to continue with the free parking at downtown meters that’s been in place since the start of the pandemic, she says that’s unlikely to go on indefinitely.
