Local voters re-elected Peter Spellios to the Swampscott Board of Selectmen on a 56-vote margin in the 2021 municipal election on Tuesday, according to the unofficial votes Swampscott Town Clerk Sue Duplin posted around 10:15 p.m. Spellios earned 1,142 votes to challenger Mary Webster's 1,086. His victory Tuesday is his third consecutive three-year term. Across the town’s six precincts, Swampscott voters collectively cast 2,270 ballots - or 19.1 percent of the total 11,874 registered voters who were eligible to vote in Tuesday’s election. Turnout was roughly 2.1 points below the 17% that came out for the 2020 town election.
