A post from a man on a community Facebook group claimed his 21-year-old nephew, who is a third-year medical student at Otago University, was repeatedly told he was not allowed to buy food at the fair. The post was written by the man's uncle Philip Balle, who was at the fair with his nephew and other family members to support their local primary school - despite Saturday's rain.
