Increase in ram raids sees landlord take matters into their own hands

Binn Inn worker Pawan Gill said she wasn’t sure the plastic containers would be strong enough to stop a ram raid, and they needed something more permanent.
These concerns were echoed by Green World Fruit & Veges owner Gurbagha Singh who thought the containers might do more harm than good.
“It's going to make it worse.
“There’s only water in those, not sand.”
Singh said, in their strip of shops, only the dairy had been hit in a ram raid before, and he felt the containers outside their stores were not visually appealing.
He had been told a plan for the future was to create concrete planter boxes with flowers in them, which he said would be better.
