India intros National Security Directive on Telecom Sector, to list trusted equipment providers

India's Cabinet Committee on Security has announced the National Security Directive on Telecommunication Sector, which will order service providers to acquire equipment from trusted sources, PTI reports, citing law and telecom minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. The minister says the directive has been framed from the perspective of national security. "Considering the need to ensure India's national security, the Cabinet has accorded approval for the National Security Directive on Telecommunication Sector", Prasad said.
