In an interview with a news channel, the high commissioner said the issues between the two countries could only be resolved through talks. In reference to Indo-Pak dispute over former Naval officer Kulbhushan Jadhav, the high commissioner said he had been convicted for espionage and appeal was submitted to the appellate court on his behalf.
