July 20, 2021 The country’s latest fixed broadband download speed accelerated to 66.55Mbps, 741.34% higher than the 7.91Mbps speed recorded at the start of the Duterte administration in July 2016 Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index report for June. The latest mobile speed increased to 32.84Mbps from 7.44Mbps speed or 341.40% during that period. The Speedtest Global Index began monthly global rankings in August 2017. At that time, the country’s internet speed was ranked 94th out of 133 countries for fixed broadband and 100th out of 122 countries for mobile. Currently, out of 181 countries, the fixed broadband speed of the Philippines is ranked 62nd. For mobile, out of 137 countries, PH ranks 75th.
