The accident is just north of Pit River Bridge and Cal Trans said motorists should expect delays. Cal Trans also said please avoid the area and take an alternate route if possible. Southbound Interstate 5 was blocked but has opened to one lane as of approximately 4:30 p.m. UPDATE 4:28 P.M.: The southbound #1 lane is now open. The southbound #2 lane is anticipated to be closed for an extended amount of time due to big rig recovery.
