Ireland is calling in foreign workers to fill labour shortage gaps

Ireland has granted 6,868 employment permits to Indians in the first seven months of 2023 for fields including health, communications, accommodation, finance, agriculture, forestry, and fishing. The country has granted a total of 18,367 employment permits in the same period while rejecting 967 and withdrawing 403. The government has also made changes to the Atypical Working Scheme, including raising the salary threshold to €30,000 and reducing the wait time to 90 days.
