Care home residents in England will now be able to leave their home for what are deemed “low risk” visits without having to self-isolate on their return, the government has confirmed.
The move comes as part of updated guidance which reflects a lower prevalence of coronavirus cases across the country.
“I know this change to the guidance will be hugely welcomed by many and give so many the chance to safely leave their home”
Deborah Sturdy
The change also comes as latest figures show 95% of residents in England have received their first Covid-19 vaccine and 71% have been given their second.
