Image Source: ISRO | 13 Feb 2021 12:14 PM GMT NEW DELHI: In a bid to develop a fully indigenous mapping portal, apps and geospatial services, the Indian Space Research Organisation ISRO and MapmyIndia have recently announced their amalgamation. The initiative will be an alternative to Google Maps which will take forward India's journey of being self-reliant or Atmanirbhar, said MapmyIndia's CEO and Executive Director Rohan Verma. Announcing its collaboration ISRO's Department of Space in a press statement informed that it has joined hands with MapmyIndia to combine their geospatial expertise and build holistic solutions by leveraging their geo portals.
