Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray launched the vaccination drive at the BKC covid centre on Saturday. Dr Madhura Patil was the first person to receive the vaccine
On Day One of V-Day, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) was able to vaccinate fewer than 50 per cent of its chosen ones. While the target was 4,000, BMC officers said only 1,926 people were vaccinated on Saturday.
A top BMC officer told Mumbai Mirror on the condition of anonymity that the State had been asked to go slow on the vaccinations (of the target of 28,000 for all of Maharashtra, authorities managed to vaccinate only 18,425). The Centre is worried about any adverse fallout of the vaccine.
