Jail Inmate Charged With 19 Order of Protection Violations
When someone is issued an order of protection from someone else, it means a total order of protection.  Not just sometime.  An order of protection is filed when there is a threat of harm between two parties, and is issued to protect the victim from another party.  These orders are serious and are meant to separate two parties until a criminal case can be adjudicated.  An Oneonta man has found this out the hard way and is now facing a mountain of criminal charges.
Tadd A. Sherwood, 33, of Oneonta, N.Y., had been charged with an order of protection in a recent case.  He was jailed at the Otsego County Correctional Facility in Cooperstown, N.Y., awaiting a trial on this charge.  After an investigation by the officers at the correctional facility, however, it was discovered that Mr. Sherwood made numerous contacts with the protected party.  This was in direct violation of his order of protection.  Dur to this, Mr. Sherwood was charged on April 30, 2021 with a violation of his protective order while incarcerated and was charged with several numerous violations.
