After changing course on seeking a master developer for the huge piece of land where the St. Johns River Power Park once stood, JEA leaders said Thursday they will meet with JaxPort about its ideas for developing the land but that doesn't mean JEA is locked into striking a deal with the port authority. JEA board Chairman John Baker said the ideal scenario would be for the utility and JaxPort to come together on a plan for the huge piece of property, but he said JEA owes it to its customers and bondholders to "get the best deal we can for the city of Jacksonville."
