A man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a fatal shooting over the weekend at a Houma apartment complex, authorities said. Joseph Simmons III, 28, of 214 Paxton St., Houma, is charged with second-degree murder, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office said. He's accused of killing Troy Taylor Jr. Saturday at the Cameron Isles Apartment Complex at 711 Enterprise Drive. Taylor, a resident of the apartment complex, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Terrebonne General Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. Police did not release a motive in the shooting. With help from the Houma Police Department, U.S. Marshal’s Service and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, detectives found Simmons in Harvey and took him into custody without incident, authorities said.
