View Comments Josh Pendergrass, a former aide to Gov. Kay Ivey, will seek the Republican nomination for a Prattville-area House seat, challenging incumbent Will Dismukes. Pendergrass said in an interview Thursday that representation in the district had been "inadequate," and that he would serve as a conservative voice for the solidly Republican seat. "This campaign isn’t about what he will do or what I will do," he said. "It’s about doing what’s best for the district." A message seeking comment was sent to Dismukes on Thursday. The freshman representative was indicted last August on a theft charge related to a job he held between 2016 and 2018. The case is still pending in Montgomery District Court, and Dismukes maintains his innocence.
