On Tuesday following a hearing, Superior Court Judge Kevin Russo rejected a motion to release Danarius Dukes on a promise to appear in court. Dukes, 45, is accused of the Dec. 6, 1993, fatal shooting of the night custodian at the Duchess Diner on Boston Avenue. The body of Theodore “Teddy” Edwards, 77, was discovered in the early morning hours lying on his back near the door of the restaurant’s office, covered in blood. According to the autopsy report, he had been shot in the face and the chest.
