Judicial order extends halt on evictions Scott Cousins, scousins@thetelegraph.com FacebookTwitterEmail EDWARDSVILLE — The judicial order halting most evictions has been extended indefinitely because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. On Dec. 30, Chief Circuit Judge William Mudge filed a new order extending the previous orders in the 3rd Judicial Circuit, which includes Madison and Bond counties. The orders were set to expire Jan. 1. The new order stays most evictions “until further order of the court.” In mid-September Mudge issued an order based on the Sept. 4 CDC Eviction Directive. It stayed residential evictions covering those who received stimulus checks, or expected to earn less than $99,000 individually, or $198,000 jointly during the 2020 calendar year.
