Inkster Ave. bridge in Kalamazoo, MI - Google Street View KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A bridge in Kalamazoo is closing to vehicle traffic for good out of concern for the safety of drivers. The Inkster Avenue bridge, which crosses over Bronson Blvd. between Westchester Lane to Plymouth Lane in the Westnedge Hill neighborhood, will eventually be removed. For now, it remains open to pedestrians and bikers. James Baker with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Services says that the decision to close it came after close monitoring into the structural safety of the bridge. “We’ve been inspecting the bridge every three months for about a year now, due to some continued deformations, or sagging, that the bridge has been experiencing.”
