The driver of a Ford Escape killed in a collision with a pickup truck near Chase Thursday morning has been identified. Acting regional coroner Chico Newell said Friday the 38-year-old woman was Pamela Xanphe Jones of Kamloops. She was alone in the vehicle. Jones was driving her 2006 Escape 11 kilometres east of Chase on the Trans-Canada Highway when she apparently lost control and slid into the westbound lane. There, a 2002 Ford Explorer pickup truck was being driven by an 80-year-old man from Chase. He was taken to Royal Inland Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after his truck struck Jones's Escape just behind the driver's door.
